Earlier today I was speaking with a minister about computers. We were discussing the problems of how some sites look different in different browsers and how some who use macs can’t hear his live broadcasts while PC users can. It all came down to proprietary software. Every manufacturer wanted to do something a little different than the competition so they could claim that their product was unique, different and therefore perhaps better. So of course they don’t work well together.
I suspect that in the World Tomorrow that won’t be allowed to happen. But you know what, we who are ambassadors for that world tomorrow are in fact doing exactly the same thing.
Our ministry is in fact setting up separate ministries who basically believe the exact same thing at the root level BUT they put emphasis on slight differences so they can attract people to themselves to build a broader base of members. A very human thing to do in a competitive corporate environment in this world marketplace. However we are as I said ambassadors for the Kingdom of God. And by doing this they are further separating the body of Christ.
Mr. Maschio used to teach us that. He called it different flavors of the church of God. Done on purpose to attract a following of members who like that flavor. It reminds me of 2Ti_4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; some people like strong leaders, some don’t, some like heavy top down government, some want a democratic style and on and on it goes. And isn’t that what Laodicea means “justice of the people” is the meaning that Vincent’s Word Studies gives to the name. Would that be like the people deciding for themselves what they want?
The point is this is not Godly and we shouldn’t be continuing the practice neither the ministry NOR the people.
