After a week full of sermons and information from various Feast Sites around the world, something occurred to me today. That is that the same effort and tools that you might use to hopefully be counted worthy to escape what is coming on the earth is exactly the same effort and the same tools that are needed to prepare you to go through the Great Tribulation and come out the other side without losing your eternal life.
I have spent much time and thought on this website, striving to help folks wake up and smell the roses so to speak. That is to show you that time is short and that we need to be doing certain things to ensure that we are able to endure what is coming and hopefully to avoid it altogether.
Yet for some that is tantamount to trying to save their own life, they fear that doing that will in itself assure that they will lose it. They read that into this verse;
(Luk 17:33) Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
However look at that scripture in the context that it is given and I think you will see a different thought.
Luk 17:30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
This is talking about a day when Christ will reveal Himself to His church not the time when He is returning at the Resurrection.
Luk 17:31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
Now notice in the day that Christ Reveals Himself, we are told that something is going to happen so fast that we cannot even go inside the house to get anything to take with us.
Luk 17:32 Remember Lot’s wife.
Luk 17:33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
Notice in the context that this statement about trying to save your life is made. You are being told to do something quickly with NO THOUGHT about getting anything to take with you. It is even contrasted with this situation that Lot and his wife found themselves. They were practically dragged out of their home to get them out of Sodom before it was destroyed, but Lot’s wife could not bear to leave behind the “life” that she had been living. Because she turned back to it she lost her life.
Luk 17:34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
Luk 17:35 Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Luk 17:36 Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Now look at the event that is described. This is what was happening to these people. They were like Lot being told it was time to leave. And there was an URGENCY attached to them leaving. I say that there was an Angel of God standing on that roof top and tell that person that they had to leave with him right now without taking anything with them. Can you see how some would hesitate to go with that Angel? Just like Lot reasoned with them for more time but it is not going to be allowed. If they do not go right them empty handed with the Angel God sent to gather them together then they will have missed out on being taken to a place of safety.
Luk 17:37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.
What life were they trying to save here? They weren’t trying to make it to the place of safety, no, rather they were looking back to their physical life and not wanting to lose that. Yet that concept has been twisted by satan to say that we should not try to save ourselves from the place of safety. If that is so then WHY did Christ say this?
Luk 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Christ Himself is here COMMANDING US to WATCH and to PRAY ALWAYS that we might be able to ESCAPE all these things that shall come to pass.
So now we see the way, lets look even closer to something that might be of help to those of us who even now have reservations.
Matthew 25:1-13 is the parable of the ten virgins it shows us that fully HALF of those of us that have to go through the tribulation will in fact lose our eternal salvation. Is it any wonder that Christ wants us to watch and pray for escape? But notice that the ones who do escape are those who have a reserve of God’s Holy Spirit. What did they do to get that reserve? Why do they have it and their sisters do not?
They are doing the same thing that those who are accounted worthy to escape are doing they just started doing it later because they were asleep and not watching the time carefully. They let it creep up on them and God was forced to allow them to go through the tribulation in order to perfect them by the sufferings they would have to bare.
They could have been watching earlier, they could have seen the signs themselves of how close we were and begun seriously working at getting a better relationship with God and Christ. Beginning earlier to change their very life styles to get in line with the ways of God more perfectly. Becoming aware earlier that just because they had all this knowledge they were not considered a profitable servant unless they had done more than just what they had been commanded to do.
(Luk 17:10) So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
That is why the Laodicean ERA has become so lukewarm in attitude. they think they have done all they needed to do but they are wrong. And this idea that it is intrinsically wrong somehow to want to escape the Tribulation keeps them locked up in their heads about what to do.
The point I am making is that all the things we can do to make ourselves ready for the return of Christ are the same things we can do to both escape the Tribulation should God account us worthy AND to prepare ourselves with the RESERVE of oil (God’s Holy spirit) that we will require to make it through the terrible times ahead successfully. So we should not be feeling guilty in any case.
It is my personal belief that the work Christ is doing in this ERA is in fact a rescue mission to save as many of His people as possible from having to go through it or at the very least to get as many as possible preparing for it should they have to. So do just what it says in Rev 3:19-20 Repent get Zealous again – Christ is Knocking ON YOUR DOOR now don’t be so sleepy that you get up to late and have to go through the Great Tribulation or at least if you do begin preparing as soon as possible so that you can build up that reserve of God Holy Spirit that you will need fight satan and his minions.
