(Joh 13:35) By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

This scripture clearly commands that we show love of the brethren. Yet many of the “church groups” that have formed since the demise of the WCG organization teach that their members should not and cannot fellowship with anyone outside of their groups. They clearly believe that there are others outside of their groups who have God’s Holy Spirit, yet they refuse to allow them to fellowship with their people? How then can any one in those groups truly show love to their brethren.

By denying fellowship are they not demonstrating mistrust, are they not showing favoritism? Doesn’t this break the commandment demonstrated by the scripture quoted above?

It is strange that they are allowed to communicate freely with anyone in the world yet they are denied fellowship with parts of the very body of Christ that they say they are members of.

You know I do understand why the restrictions are in place. If you don’t believe the way they do, then they are afraid that you might be corrupted by being exposed to beliefs held by some in the body that are different than those held by the group you are with. In Mr. Armstrong’s day when there was only one church for the most part that was a reasonable step to take.

But what about now. The body of Christ has been scattered there is no one shepherd anymore so there are some differences within the body. Does that mean that parts of the body should be cut off from other parts? Do you really think that God likes this?

The leading ministers of each of the groups seem to be saying hey come on over here and we can all be together and fellowship…….provided you are willing to join our group and send your tithes here(If you are required to join the obviously tithes will follow). Something is wrong brethren, how can we correct it. Can it even be corrected before Christ returns?

This is not the kind of light to the world that Christ envisioned when he said that the world would know us by the love we have for the brethren.

Notice God’s attitude about Christian Fellowship in Malachi; Mal 3:16  Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.
Mal 3:17  And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

WOW, Those who speak often one to another, who fear God, who think about Him and talk about Him amongst their brethren, are going to be put into a Book of Remembrance to be used apparently when He makes up His jewels. He will spare them. Spare them from what brethren?

God says that He will spare part of His people out of the tribulation that is coming. I think it a very dangerous thing to be with any group that is telling their people that they cannot fellowship with others that are part of the body of Christ.

Perhaps those of you who are affiliated with those kinds of groups that teach this, should be about trying to correct it within your groups.

Only those of the Philadelphian mindset or ERA were promised to be spared what was coming on the earth to try the earth. If a person who is Christ’s hopes that God will count him worthy to escape what is coming, then showing the love of the Philadelphian ERA, where we were all one group, would be a very necessary characteristic of the person who is taken and not left behind.
