Rev 3:20  Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Christ is saying to those of us in this ERA of God’s church that any of us that can still hear Him, should open the door to Him so that He can come into to him.

This seems very important, so just how are we supposed to open this door for Christ? What are we supposed to do.

Well lets look at this scripture in context and perhaps we can see.

The works of Laodicea are described in Revelation 3: 14-17;

Rev 3:14  And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
Rev 3:15  I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
Rev 3:16  So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Rev 3:17  Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

This is how Christ sees those in Laodicea, those with that mindset fully ensconced. So what does he ask them to do in order to correct the situation?

Rev 3:18  I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

So how do we begin to do these things that He counsels us to do?

Rev 3:19  As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Here is how to begin to get the Gold that has been tested, the white raiment and the eyesalve we need. Repent of being lukewarm and accept the testing of your works as they perfect your faith. Repentance is the Keyword, go back to Christ and repent of what you have been and begin again to work with Him, Sup with Him if you will because it is the act of Repentance that Opens the door for Christ He can not come in otherwise.

Next we will look at the Zealousness that He wants to see and how to achieve that.
