One of the things that Christ admonishes Laodicea about is a lack of Zeal. Even in the Philadelphian ERA of the Church there were a number of articles about Christians who were just waiting for Christ’s return.

The idea being that if you are just waiting for something to happen that is outside of your control then you have stopped doing anything about yourself. Remember that the bible tells us that ONLY those who overcome the lukewarm attitude of Laodicea will make it into the Kingdom of God. (Rev 3:21)

Picture yourself in a small calm lake floating on a raft. Everything is still you are not moving. Is that life? No brethren live is a moving stream that is never still. It may be slow or fast but never still. The problem is, life, is going in the wrong direction. We cannot sit still. If we are not paddling then we are moving backwards.

Because we have been given so much of God’s Truth, more than any ERA except perhaps Ephesus, we feel confidant that we will make it into the Kingdom. But just knowing the truth no matter how much you know will not put you into the Kingdom. It is what you do with what you know. I know a person that spends almost all of his time trying to learn what everyone has to say about God’s word. Thinking that it will help him make it into the Kingdom. But remember what Paul said; “1Co_13:2  And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

Solomon tells us that “Ecc_9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. “. Isn’t that another way of saying that we should have zeal in our lives?

We have to be applying ourselves with Zeal to the job of overcoming every sin in our lives.

I have discovered that for all my talk of how much we need Zeal I have slipped into a lukewarm attitude about what we are doing here. God has given me this project if you will to do and I should be doing it with all my might. I beleive that it is important that we provide these messages to God’s people of the Laodicean ERA. They constitute the eye salve that God says His people need at this time. So I will be putting more and more time and attention to doing that very thing. I hope that you all will take stock of your lives and be about developing the talents that God has given you and working hard at not only putting out sin from your lives but also looking hard for those hidden sins that lurk just out of our view.

I know from personal experience that many times we work very hard to hide our sins from ourselves. Take some real time to search them out. We have a few months till the Passover season is here again. Lets begin now to find and root out the sin inour lives so we can be more ready than ever to take the Passover.
