Subject: What Christ is doing in this age of the Church and what we can do to help Him.
We all know what Christ did with the WCG church. How He opened the doors of Radio and Television and apparently expected the church to walk through.
Which we did gladly. We were all behind the “work” so to speak. But now, He is apparently working with each of us as individuals.
Why can’t we get behind that work of Christ as strongly as we got behind the Open doors work?
Many of our people are floundering without a goal. They are being put to sleep especially by the larger congregational groups.
I believe that we can bring our people back to life if we give them a “work” to do that correctly corresponds to what Christ is actually doing in this age of the church. A work they can do wherever they are within the body of Christ.
I am looking for individuals to help with this project. To help develop it in such a way that we can reach the people of God with the “eye salve” they need to become aware of what Christ is doing and to share the message with their brethren. To wake up as many as is possible so that they will have enough of God’s Spirit available to them to make it through the tribulation if need be or perhaps even be protected from it as that seems to be Christ’s purpose.
We need people who can write the messages that will reach the minds and hearts of our people to turn them on to what is happening and get them ready for it. We need speakers who can give the sermons and bible studies needed to bring our congregations to a full state of readiness.
Look at how this Corona Virus has caught the world completely off guard. Imagine the effects when the 4 horsemen begin to ride in earnest! Our people need to be prepared individually. The main corporate congregations are so focused on trying to do the work that Mr. Armstrong was called to do instead of truly preparing us for what is immediately ahead.
All we really need to do is look at what Christ is doing in the same way we looked at it before in the Philadelphian Era of the church and set ourselves to help. Our people can’t see what they have become they think they are rich and increased with goods and have need of nothing but because of that attitude, they have become blind, miserable, poor, and naked. Rev 3:17
But if enough of us get to work on this as a grassroots movement, we can reach many of our people with messages that could literally save their lives given what is coming. It is a work worthy of our calling brethren. We should be as excited about this as we all were about the work being done in Philadelphia!
It is a work that is not truly being done by the congregations large or small for the most part because Christ did not call them to do the work as He did in the past now he is working with the individual. But many in this ERA are simply asleep at the wheel. He said that they needed “eye salve” so they could see their condition while there was enough time to do something about it.
I will be setting up meetings in our online meeting room for those who feel that they might want to become involved or have any ideas that they want to contribute. I will send the links and times of these meetings to those of you who ask or indicate that you want to be involved.
I am looking for your thoughts and ideas on this work that Christ is doing and how we can help Him.
- How it might be accomplished.
- What would our people gain from it?
- Why is what Christ doing important?
- And if it is important why aren’t we doing more to help as we have in the past?
- How can we reach more of our people with the eye salve they need to see what is happening.
- How can we get more people involved in this and take it to their own groups where these groups can get involved.
Remember this is not about building a group or “work” to help Christ. This is about empowering individuals in the body of Christ to reach out as individuals to their portion of the body of Christ with the messages about what Christ is doing, Why He is doing it and the condition that they are in that is prompting Him doing it.
Below is a small post from my website that outlines a bit of what I think about it. But I need your input and individual help to truly get a movement going within the ecclesia.
Why don’t we as a group pay more attention to what Christ is doing in the Laodicean Era as opposed to what He did in the Philadelphian Era of the church? I mean we practically built a religion around the work that Christ was doing in the Philadelphian Era. You know, the open door and the church preaching the true gospel using those doors of radio and television in power never before seen in the worldview.
It seems like everyone understands that Christ is trying to get the attention of each of His people, but why? And why don’t the church groups latch on to the fact that He is doing, a work, and they should be helping? They should be finding out why it is important enough that CHRIST would do it Himself?
Christ told us that those whom He found “watching” would receive a special blessing at His return;
You Must Be Ready
Luk 12:35 Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;
Luk 12:36 And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.
Luk 12:37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.
Notice that these people are the ones that are opening the door for the Bride Groom. When Christ comes at the resurrection, He is the one opening the door. This scripture depicts God’s people who are waiting and “watching” for the bride groom’s knock. Did you catch that? They are watching and waiting for the KNOCK. Can you see how this ties together with the Knock message of Revelation 3?
Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Not only are we to be watching for his Knock so we can open the door immediately but when we do both passages indicate that He will come in and sup with us. The similarity of these two scriptures is not a coincidence, brethren. These two passages are speaking of the same event and time.
Let’s dig in a bit more to these scriptures. Look at Luke 12:35 they are to have their loins girded about and their lights burning. What is that indicative of? Zeal brethren. They are to be zealously watching for the return of the Bride Groom.
These scriptures bring up a couple of points of interest;
- The problem with Laodicea is that they lack Zeal and this is what Christ says they need to get to be able to hear His knock and open the door.
Rev 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
- They are watching for Christ, yet they are the ones who have to open the door, this event cannot be the resurrection.
So what are they watching for? Is Christ returning twice? Revelation 12 indicates that a place was prepared, for some of the church, a place of safety if you will.
Rev 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
Can you see that this is what Christ is doing by knocking on the door of each of those who can hear him, who are in effect watching for Him? He is inviting them to come and sup with Him. He is gathering His people to a place of safety, and the Knock message to Laodicea is how He is doing it. Being taken to a place of safety is the blessing that is offered to those who are watching and who, open the door immediately for him.
Remember the story of the sleepy virgin in Song of Solomon chapter 5?
Son 5:2 I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night.
Son 5:3 I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet; how shall I defile them?
Son 5:4 My beloved put in his hand by the hole of the door, and my bowels were moved for him.
Son 5:5 I rose up to open to my beloved; and my hands dropped with myrrh, and my fingers with sweet smelling myrrh, upon the handles of the lock.
Son 5:6 I opened to my beloved; but my beloved had withdrawn himself, and was gone: my soul failed when he spake: I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer.
Our people are asleep and don’t know it. Our groups have not taught them the importance of the knock message because groups are irrelevant to the knock it is between God and His people. God measures the church right now at this very moment He, God the Father, is deciding who’ will be taken to a place of safety and who will have to go through the time of Jacobs trouble when satan is turned loose.
As a people, we need to rise-up now not make excuses as the sleepy virgin. We need to have our loins girded and have our lights burning. We need to zealously repent and begin to watch in earnest for Christ’s return to gather His people to a place of safety ALWAYS praying that we are accounted worthy to escape what is coming.
Luk_21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
(Eze 22:30) And I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the breach before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none.
Christ is looking for men and women who can stand in the Gap to provide His people the information they need to wake up and see themselves as they really are before they are destroyed in the tribulation to come. If we can even save one person from losing their eternal life by having to go into the tribulation without enough of God’s Spirit, then it is truly a worthwhile work for any and all of us.
