Our sharing the Word Classes are beginning to take shape and everyone is having a good time with it. Tonight while we wait for the more formalized class to get ready, I want to go over 7 Keys to Studying and Understanding the Bible. This was a post given by Wray Zehrung on December 7, 2014.
It is a great starting point and preparation tool for these classes. Once we see how to study and understand the word of God we can begin to share it in a much more positive way. We become more assured in our beliefs and that in itself comes across in a positive way to those who have asked what we believe and more importantly why we believe.
Anyone who wants to learn how to answer someone when asked why and what we believe can benefit. We want to show you how to talk to folks about your faith. To do so in a way that is not a turn-off or argumentative but rather shows love and concern for most.
There are ways to interact with others and these classes, while they will focus on one small bit of our beliefs at a time, they will also show you how to talk about them confidently and with love that comes across to those who truly want to know.
Be ready to give an answer
Passive vs Active learning (Study like your preparing for a test…because you are)
The reason we take notes:
Helps us remember at the time
For us to go back and study (this doesn’t replace the Bible)
1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
(KJV)1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;
Act like this is a test!
