Recently I was condemned by a minister for teaching others. Am I wrong to share what has been given to me to others of like mind?

As I thought on this a few scriptures came to mind that I would like to share with you:

Col 3:16  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

It would seem that some believe that only a minister has the training and right to teach what we have been given. Yet the scripture we just read would seem to say otherwise.

Notice again what Paul had to say to the Corinthians:

Heb 5:12  For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

Indeed once we have been taught and have learned those messages, we also ought to be able and willing to teach others. How else could we follow Peter’s admonition:

1Pe 3:15  But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

No brethren, for while we are always to be growing in the knowledge of Christ there does come a time when we graduate so to speak. When we have had the foundation of God’s word firmly implanted in our minds and have had our senses exercised by use to discern good from evil;

Heb 5:13  For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
Heb 5:14  But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

So yes, I do share what God has graciously given me with others who ask or come to learn. Yet I am not ordained, am not a minister. I am told that one such as I, God condems to death as the scripture in Deuteronomy says. Lets look at those scriptures:

Deu 13:1  If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
Deu 13:2  And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
Deu 13:3  Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
Deu 13:4  Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
Deu 13:5  And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.

Certainly I have not said that I am a prophet or dreamer of dreams but it is claimed that I said that we do not need to belong to a church. First of all I have always, to all that come to our fellowships, said that this is for those who do not yet have a “church group” to affiliate with. But we need to be clear here just what is a church. The “church” is the body of Christ not a certain group of brethren or corporate entity. You do need to belong to the church else you do not have God’s Spirit.

But what I think he meant by that unfortunate use of the word church is that I said that I did not want to be affiliated with any particular church group so that I could freely share the message about what Christ is doing in this ERA of the church amongst all of the other church groups.

I do have a minister that I go to for counsel and to vet what I have said as a layman to others of the body of Christ, I do not want to mislead or take anyone away from God and if I say anything that is wrong I am quick to admit that. But I use the word of God for all of the teaching that I give. And I learned if from many many years in the WCG and now in the scattered groups of God’s people.

This is not a church group as such. I provide from others who are ministers, services and bible studies for those who do not have a church group to attend with and to provide fellowship for the scattered brethren.

God made a strong point that those who are “Jewels” in His sight are those who speak often one to another:

Mal 3:16  Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.
Mal 3:17  And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.
Mal 3:18  Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

This site is for those who wish to fellowship with one another in a venue that allows it no matter your affiliation, to be able to ask questions that in your particular group affiliation might put you in an unfavorable light with your minister. It is for the broken and wounded of God’s people who have been treated badly by ministers who wield fear like a weapon.

If what I am doing is wrong in some other peoples eyes then so be it. I believe that I am fulfilling a needed service to God’s people. I am always open to discussing specifics and the scriptures that apply but vague and inaccurate references to wrong doing and condemning the person to whom these vague and inaccurate references apply to a death sentence from God is FEAR MONGERING and not something I would want to be accused of myself.
