Here on this site, we talk a lot about Christ’s work during this Laodicean ERA of the church. Of His Knock Message being given to the Laodiceans as written about in Revelation 3.
To the Church in Laodicea
Rev 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
Rev 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Rev 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Rev 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
Rev 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Rev 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
Rev 3:22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
We tend to contrast this work of Christ’s with the work that He did in the Philadelphian ERA just before this time phase of the Church. But in reality, the two works are completely different. The one work reached out to the world, particularly the Nations descended from the 12 tribes of Israel, while the latter work is reaching out to the individuals whom God has called to be a part of His church in this end time era, the Ecclesia if you will, the called out ones who have received God’s Holy Spirit and have thus become a part of the “Body” of Christ, which is the church.
You see during this particular time period there is going to come, an event upon the whole world which is greater in magnitude, destruction, and misery then has ever happened on this earth.
Mat 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Mat 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.
The problem is many of God’s people are in that lukewarm attitude that seems to be so prevalent in this time phase of the church. As such they are not aware of the time and danger that is just ahead or they feel protected from such because of their affiliation with this group or minister or that.
But the word says that because of that sleepy, unaware attitude of Laodicea, MANY, as many as 50%, of those who must go through this terrible time will lose their eternal salvation.
The Parable of the Ten Virgins
Mat 25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
Mat 25:2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
Mat 25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
Mat 25:4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
Mat 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
Mat 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
Mat 25:7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
Mat 25:8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
Mat 25:9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
Mat 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
Mat 25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
Mat 25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
Mat 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
This is saying that as many, half may not make it through the Great Tribulation. Remember that God is not willing that ANY should perish.
The Parable of the Lost Sheep
Mat 18:10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 18:11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
Mat 18:12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
Mat 18:13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.
Mat 18:14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
So think about all this for a moment. Look at God’s attitude of not wanting any to perish, yet He is seeing His end-time people in a sleepy lethargic attitude of mind that will ultimately cause Him to actually cast them into the Great Tribulation in order to save as many as can be saved.
What would you think would be important to God in this scenario?
Do you begin to see what this Knock of Jesus Christ to Laodicea is really all about?
Revelation 12 shows us that some are going to be saved out of this tribulation or satan’s wrath against the people of God.
Satan Thrown Down to Earth
Rev 12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
Rev 12:8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Rev 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Rev 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
Rev 12:13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
Rev 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
Rev 12:15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
Rev 12:16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Most of Laodicea is just not spiritually or mentally prepared for what is coming. They are so sure they are safe that they have stopped really trying to overcome and because of that spiritual state of mind God is going to allow them to go into this tribulation where as many as half are going to lose their spiritual lives. God does not want that to happen so Christ is doing work now in this ERA of the church trying to reach out to each individual member of the Body of Christ to wake them up.
In this scenario, the groupings of God’s people no longer have any relevance. You are not safe because of where you attend church because God is looking at the hearts of each of us to determine who can be taken to the place of safety and who cannot. That is what The Knock is really all about.
Christ is trying to wake us up much like the parable shown in Song of Solomon chapter 5;
The Bride Searches for Her Beloved
Son 5:2 I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night.
Son 5:3 I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet; how shall I defile them?
Son 5:4 My beloved put in his hand by the hole of the door, and my bowels were moved for him.
Son 5:5 I rose up to open to my beloved; and my hands dropped with myrrh, and my fingers with sweet smelling myrrh, upon the handles of the lock.
Son 5:6 I opened to my beloved; but my beloved had withdrawn himself, and was gone: my soul failed when he spake: I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer.
Son 5:7 The watchmen that went about the city found me, they smote me, they wounded me; the keepers of the walls took away my veil from me.
Son 5:8 I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, if ye find my beloved, that ye tell him, that I am sick of love.
Son 5:9 What is thy beloved more than another beloved, O thou fairest among women? what is thy beloved more than another beloved, that thou dost so charge us?
Why do people Knock on your door? Isn’t it to get your attention so you can “rise up” and open the door?
Christ is trying to get our attention in order to save as many as possible from having to go through the Great Tribulation.
He says that because we don’t think we need anything that we have grown Lukewarm, that we are actually poor, miserable, blind, and naked. In that condition, we are weak and vulnerable.
This whole Knock scenario is Christ trying to alert us to the “Condition our condition is in”. You remember that old song by Kenny Rogers “Just Dropped in(to see what condition my condition was in)” That was a drug culture song that related to the condition of our minds after the use of drugs. In a sense, we are suffering in a similar way. Our self satisfied mental state is much like a drug-induced state of wellness.
We may feel great but our minds are being shut down by the self-satisfied attitude and it is causing great harm to our spirituality.
We need to Repent and get back that Zeal we had at the first so we can begin to truly examine ourselves. That is how we open the door to Christ. Perhaps then and really only then will be “accounted worthy to escape what is coming”.
Luk_21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
We really do need to “see what condition our condition is in”, and then stand up and do something about it before it is too late and the Father decides that we need to go through the Great Tribulation.
