I have never had a meeting like this where there was no subject to be discussed or sermon scheduled etc. We scheduled an open fellowship meeting where members of the body of Christ could just come together as brothers and sisters and talk and fellowship together.
There were 8 or 9 of us in the room. We just started talking, about whatever was on our minds. There was small talk of course but so much of what was discussed was very much spiritual in nature. We started at 7 pm and the next time I looked at the clock it was almost 9 pm. I was amazed there was almost no sense of time because there was so much enjoyment in the conversation.
We talked about serious things, we laughed about silly things, we showed where we were concerned about things and we discussed remedies and how to deal with issues that come up no matter what we do.
We all learned a great deal I think but mostly we thoroughly enjoyed being with each other and sharing! What a great way to kick off the Sabbath.
It was a first time for this kind of meeting for me and I came into it a little concerned that it might get out of hand or be too confusing and such. Happily and I praise God for it, it went smooth as silk.
Thank you for all who participated in this first ever Open Fellowship. I hope to see you all again and many others besides. There is much to be gained by brethren fellowshipping freely with brethren no matter what your affiliation within the groups of God’s people.
The Holy Spirit flowed freely tonight and for that I am very thankful.
