(Rev 3:8)  I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

The Greek word used here is Dunamis (reminds you a bit of Dynamite) And according to Strong’s and Thayer it is talking about Spiritual Power in the context.

While there were certainly miracles in the Philadelphian ERA of God’s church they were of a shall we say much “quieter” type than the kind of “blow your socks off” miracles of the church in the time of the Apostles.

As I sit here and think about this it seems to me to be because our “FOCUS” during all those years was on the Physical things of the doctrines of Christ that were brought back to us by Mr. Armstrong. We were in a constant deluge of “truths” being brought to light by Mr. Armstrong. But because we wanted to learn and apply these new truths we lost sight of and never really grasped hold of the use of and the power of the Holy Spirit.

In fact given the governmental structure set up in the physical churches, exactly how could the gifts of God’s Holy Spirit be demonstrated or in some minds even practical. I mean how could someone express a gift of the spirit in our churches.

Look at the list of the gifts of God’s Spirit in I Cor 12 for instance

Gifts of the Spirit:

  1. Healing
  2. Miracles
  3. Helps
  4. Governments(gifts of organization)
  5. Tongues(languages)
  6. Interpretation of tongues(languages)
  7. Word of wisdom
  8. Word of Knowledge
  9. Faith
  10. Prophecy
  11. Teaching(may be a gift of God as well in this Chapter)

I don’t even know for sure what some of these “gifts of the Spirit” are. And yet Paul tells us in no uncertain terms that we are to pray for these gifts ourselves.

(1Co 14:12)  Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.

Think about this. Are we to seek Spiritual Gifts? Paul seems to think so. And if we get then how would you deal with it?

We are racing closer and closer to the time of Jacobs Trouble. The events that are going to come together just to bring to power the Beast of Revelation are going to be staggering.(The Four Horsemen will have to culminate at a time just ahead of when the Beast takes the reins of Power).

As a people we are going to NEED more of God’s Holy Spirit to get through what’s coming. Let us do as Paul  instructed us and ask for these gifts of the Holy Spirit and that God would provide more of His Spirit within us so that we can utilize these gifts effectively for the edifying of the Body of Christ. Paul says that we are to EXCEL with the Gifts and Daniel says that many of us in this generation will do EXPLOITS.

Remember we are not in Philadelphia anymore. The bible does not say that Laodicea is without strength, only that they are blinded once the scales are removed from your eyes by listening to Christ Knocking on your door, then that strength can be made available to you in quantities that we have not experienced before.
